PNN – Following the cessation of ceasefire negotiations and the return of the Israeli negotiating team from Qatar, American-Palestinian mediator Bishara Bahbah emphasized in a television interview that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not want to reach an agreement with the Hamas movement and end the Gaza war.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Arab sources, in a television interview with Al Arabiya, Bishara Bahbah stated that US President Donald Trump could pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare a ceasefire in the Gaza war and accept the agreement, but he would not do so due to some political criteria.
He reported in the television interview that the ceasefire talks have been temporarily suspended, but may resume this week. He said that reaching an agreement is still possible because Hamas is still ready to negotiate.
He added: There is no guarantee that Israel will accept the agreement if Hamas shows more flexibility. Because Finance Minister Betzelel Smotrich and Internal Security Minister Itamar Ben-Giver have significant influence over Netanyahu, controlling his decisions and leading the negotiations to a deadlock.

He also noted that Hamas does not ask for much and is flexible in its positions. He said he believes the movement wants an agreement to end the Gaza war.
Bahbah went on to describe Trump’s rhetoric as based on false illusions and said that he wants to place the responsibility for rebuilding the Gaza Strip on the shoulders of Arab countries.
In his opinion, the plan to forcibly relocate the Palestinian people is not on the negotiating table, and Trump has realized that this is unrealistic and that the forced displacement of the people of Gaza will not happen.
On his X Network (formerly Twitter) account, Whittaker made allegations against Hamas, saying that Washington abandoned the ceasefire negotiations halfway and recalled its negotiating team from Qatar for consultations after Hamas’ recent reaction, which “indicates its unwillingness to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.”
