PNN – The Hill website wrote: As the new academic year approaches in America, pro-Palestinian students are preparing to resume protests against the Israeli regime’s war in Gaza.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, this American website wrote: War protesters say that despite the arrest of more than 2,000 people so far, all forms of protest are still considered, and students are trying to find new ways to demand that universities refrain from investing in the Israeli regime, among their other goals.
Mahmoud Khalil, a student negotiator from the “Stop Investing in Apartheid” group at Columbia University said: We will see continued student activism and they will continue what they have done so far in contractual and non-contractual ways. So we will not only protest and set up protest tents, we will use every means at our disposal to force Columbia University to sever ties with Israel.
He added that students have been planning the next step all summer to pressure Columbia University to listen to the students’ demands and decide to stand on the right side of history.

American students are returning to university this month after a chaotic situation at the end of the last academic year.
Last academic year, dozens of students across the United States protested the war in Gaza, disrupting several graduation ceremonies, and many students were suspended for participating in the protests.
Zeinab Chowdhury, director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Maryland, also said: There are definitely discussions about how to continue supporting students and raising awareness about the human rights of Palestinians and the genocide in Gaza.
He added: I think that some students have prepared themselves during the summer. They have participated in meetings planned by student leaders in various universities to draw the necessary strategies ahead of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Several universities in the United States, including Harvard, have claimed that they do not take a position on political issues, contrary to the students’ request to sever ties with the Zionist regime, and some universities have also tightened the regulations on setting up protest tents in the university environment.
Khalil, a student negotiator at Columbia University, said that fear of the consequences of the protests has not stopped students from making bigger plans to maintain the importance of the Palestinian issue on their campuses. In addition to camping, students have an important program of political education and try to connect with other students and raise their awareness about what is happening in Palestine.
