PNN – The US special envoy to Lebanon claimed that the weakening of the Syrian government will have “widespread consequences” in Lebanon, which is a neighboring country of Damascus.

He added: However, the ceasefire agreement includes the control of the “flow of weapons from Syria” and the protection of the Syrian-Lebanon border “the main point” in the success of the ceasefire.
Hochstein also welcomed the shaky ceasefire in Lebanon, which has been in place for nearly two weeks, and claimed that Israel’s work for a “complete” withdrawal from Lebanon is a “great sign” of its success.
When asked about dozens of Israeli attacks on Lebanon after the cease-fire, which have resulted in the deaths of Lebanese civilians, he claimed that “there have been ceasefire violations by both sides.”

Hochstein stated that Hezbollah should move north without its weapons, adding: This is the key point for establishing a ceasefire.
