American Senator: Continuing the bombing of Gaza will be a grave strategic and moral mistake

PNN – The representative of the US Senate described Israel’s resumption of bombing of Gaza as a “gross strategic and moral mistake”.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Elizabeth Warren, the Democratic representative of Massachusetts state in the US Senate, has criticized the military strategy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Gaza.

According to NBC’s report, the American senator said that Israel’s military strategy “has caused a humanitarian disaster and the death of thousands of civilians in Gaza and has jeopardized the long-term stability of the region.”

This member of the Senate clarified: “I have repeatedly asked the Israeli government to stop the bombing in Gaza and I have emphasized the necessity of providing massive humanitarian aid to the civilians.”

In another part of the speech, Elizabeth Ward asked Hamas to release the “remaining hostages”. She stated: “The Israeli government should not resume bombing Gaza. Doing such a thing will be a grave strategic and moral error.”

On October 7th, the Islamic resistance movement of Palestine, Hamas, in response to more than seven decades of occupation of Palestine and nearly two decades of siege of Gaza and imprisonment and torture of thousands of Palestinians, started the operation known as “Al-Aqsa Storm”.

This operation was one of the deadliest attacks against this regime. Hamas fighters penetrated into the occupied territories at several points of the border fences, attacked the villages and besides killing a large number of Israelis, captured a number of them.

In response to this operation, the Zionist regime has launched heavy attacks against Gaza and placed this area under a complete siege. The attacks of the Zionist regime have led to the martyrdom of more than 14,500 civilians.

After the operation of October 7, which the Hamas group refers to as the “Al-Aqsa storm”, the Israeli regime has placed Gaza under a complete siege and has made this area the target of heavy bombings. The Israeli army has launched a ground attack on Gaza a few weeks ago.

Israel has announced the ultimate goal of this operation is the complete destruction of Hamas. Despite this, many analysts, even within occupied Palestine itself, doubt Tel Aviv’s ability to achieve this goal.

The United States and its allies have fully supported the operation of the Israeli regime in Gaza, despite the fact that it resulted in high civilian casualties and a humanitarian disaster in this area.

Washington was one of the main countries against the ceasefire in Gaza. US officials have said they support “humanitarian pauses” but are not in favor of a ceasefire because such a decision would benefit Hamas at this point.

The positions of the American government have been made in a situation where a large number of people and even the lower-ranking officials of the government of this country have demanded a ceasefire in Gaza and stop unreserved support to the Zionist regime.

A few days ago, the American media reported that more than 400 political appointees and employees of the American government sent a letter to Joe Biden, protesting his support for the Israeli regime in the Gaza war.

This letter is only one of several protest letters that have been sent to high-ranking American officials in this regard in the past few days.

At the same time, in the past days, various American cities have witnessed demonstrations in support of the people of Gaza and against the crimes of the Zionist regime.
