American Senator: Washington is complicit in the nightmare that millions of Palestinians are experiencing.
The senior Democratic senator said that the war started by the right-wing cabinet of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has left the largest amount of destruction in the 21st century.
Senior Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders said that the war started by the right-wing cabinet of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has left the largest amount of destruction in the 20th century.
“The devastation in Gaza after 100 days has surpassed the devastation we saw in the city of Dresden (Germany) during World War II,” Sanders explained Wednesday morning.
He said about the occupation’s attacks on the Gaza Strip: “The results of Israel’s military operations were catastrophic, because more than 20,000 Palestinians were killed, and it is believed that thousands of victims are still under the rubble.”
According to the Al Jazeera website, this American senator continued: “UN facilities in Gaza were bombed despite sharing their coordinates with Israeli forces. Aid workers who have worked in war zones for decades say the tragedy in Gaza is beyond anything they have ever seen.
“Despite the efforts of the United Nations, the situation has worsened,” Sanders said, adding that hundreds of thousands of children in Gaza are starving to death before the eyes of Americans. Aid trucks are crossing the Gaza border so slowly that Netanyahu’s government won’t allow them to move safely.”
After 102 days since the start of the war, the number of Palestinian martyrs has reached more than 24 thousand martyrs, of which 10 thousand 400 of the victims are children. Nearly two million people of Gaza’s population of 2.2 million are displaced and more than 60% of its infrastructure has been destroyed or seriously damaged.
