American students sued their school for banning pro-Palestine ceremonies

PNN – A number of students of “Jackson Reed” high school in Washington, the capital of America, complained to their school principals for preventing the holding of a ceremony in support of Palestine and censorship.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Reuters, this complaint was submitted on Wednesday and it is stated that the school principals behave differently with the members of the “Arab Students’ Association” in this school.

In this complaint, it is emphasized: The Arab Students Association and its members tried to have meaningful activities such as showing documentary films, installing posters and holding cultural programs in the last four months, but the school management has always prevented these actions.

Student demonstrations in America are reminiscent of protests against the Vietnam War

The complaint was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union in the District of Columbia Court and asked the court to allow the students to hold their desired programs before the end of the school year.

Freedom of speech has been suppressed because the school does not allow students’ views about the ongoing war in Gaza and its effects on the Palestinian people to be heard, the complaint states.

Meanwhile, student protests in America in support of the people of Gaza and stopping the Israeli war have reached Harvard, Texas, Brown and Southern California universities, and Texas and California universities have become the scene of police clashes with students.
