American-style freedom of speech; Increasing pressure on pro-Palestinian lawmakers in Congress

PNN – The Axios website, citing informed sources in the Democratic Party, wrote that pressure has increased against American lawmakers who support Palestine.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) Democratic Representative of New York State and (Rashida Tlaib) Democratic Representative of Michigan State have been publicly and privately criticized by their fellow legislators in Congress due to their anti-Israeli statements.

Axios reported that last week, Ocasio-Cortez said on social media that the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel was a “direct consequence” of the Ibrahim agreement and the transfer of the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

A few days ago, during a speech at the “Palestinian People’s Conference”, Tlaib criticized Biden’s support for Tel Aviv.

Tlaib said: The International Court of Justice recently ruled that Israel should stop its invasion of Rafah, but President Biden says what is happening in Gaza is not genocide. Where is your red line President Biden?

One of the Democrats in the House of Representatives, whose name was not disclosed, told Axios: Tlaib’s speech has caused “a lot of anger” and “severe displeasure of many members (of Congress)”.

Meanwhile, the findings of a new poll show that the majority of Democrats who support the American president believe that Washington’s ally, Israel, is committing genocide in Gaza. According to the results of the “Data for Progress” survey, 56% of Democrats agree with the charge of genocide against Israel, and only 22% of them disagree with this issue.

Overall, 39% of the participants in this survey believe that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

In a letter to Joe Biden, 88 Democratic members of the US Congress requested a ban on the sale of offensive weapons to the Zionist regime.

The mentioned letter states: Israel’s restrictions on sending humanitarian aid to Gaza have led to an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.

These representatives emphasized in their letter that they believe that the restrictions of the Zionist regime in sending humanitarian aid to Gaza violate the American laws.
