America’s claim about confronting Yemeni missiles

PNN – The US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed on Saturday that it shot down two missiles that were fired from the direction of Yemen towards a container ship in the south of the Red Sea.

According to Reuters, Centcom announced in a message on X social network (formerly Twitter) that a Singapore-flagged container ship owned or operated by Denmark (Danish shipping company Maersk) reported being hit by a missile and USS Gravely and USS Labon responded.

The Central Command of the US Army added, “During the response, the US Navy destroyer Gravelli shot down two anti-ship ballistic missiles that were fired from areas under the control of the Houthis (Yemen’s Ansarullah).” CENTCOM also claimed that the ship can continue its maritime activities and no injuries have been reported. According to Centcom, this was the 20th naval attack since November 19.

In recent weeks, parallel to the intensification of Israel’s attacks in Gaza, the Yemeni army has also narrowed the field on Israeli ships or ships that are destined for the occupied territories and intend to pass through the Bab al-Mandab strait in the Red Sea.

The spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, Yahya Saree, warned the United States and the countries participating in the naval coalition against Sana’a on Friday, December 29, that the consequences of the escalation of tensions will be borne by Washington.

The American naval coalition to support the crimes of the Israeli army in Gaza, which has practically failed since the beginning of its formation due to the non-joining of several Arab and Western countries, has not changed the position of Sana’a, and the leader of Ansarullah emphasizes, “We always wish for a direct war with Israel and the United States.”

An Egyptian network announced by releasing a satellite image of the port of Eilat in the south of occupied Palestine that for the first time there is no ship in this port to unload cargo.

A member of the Ansarullah movement’s political office, Mohammad Al-Bakhiti, stated about the nature of Sana’a’s struggle against the Tel Aviv and Washington coalition, “Just as Yemen won the moral battle against the American coalition, if it is attacked, it will win any other military battle.”
