America’s claim: Due to logistical reasons, we could not help in the crash of the Iranian president’s helicopter

PNN – The spokesperson of the US State Department claimed that Iran requested help from Washington following the downing of the helicopter of President Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and the testimony of them and their companions but we could not help Tehran due to logistical reasons.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Matthew (Matt) Miller, the spokesperson of the US Department of State, after the martyrdom of President Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raeesi and Dr. Hossein Amirabdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, claimed in a gathering of reporters in Washington that after the helicopter crash of its president and foreign minister, Iran asked for help, and the United States also expressed its readiness, but due to logistical reasons, they failed to help.

The spokesperson of the US State Department claimed: The Iranian government asked us for help and we explained to them that we would help Iran as we would in response to any request from a foreign government in such a situation, and in the end, due to logistical problems, we could not help them.

The spokesperson of the US State Department did not provide any other explanation about the details of this issue and claimed: “I will not go into the details, but the Iranian government had asked us for help.”

Miller defended Washington’s action in response to several reporters’ questions as to why the US statement used the word “official condolences” and said that this phrase means the official condolences of the American government, which it usually uses in these cases.

The spokesperson of the US Foreign Ministry added that this matter has a historical background and Washington has also sent condolences in the past regarding the death of opposition leaders such as Hugo Chavez.

At the same time, this official of the US State Department said that the death of the Iranian president does not change the basic policies of the United States of America towards Iran and claimed that Washington supports the Iranian people.

He also clarified that the US sanctions include the aviation industries used by the Iranian government.

The spokesperson of the US State Department announced in a statement on Monday local time, before the start of his weekly press conference with reporters: The United States of America officially condoles the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raeesi, Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian and other members of their delegation in the helicopter crash in the northwest of this country.

A reporter asked Miller if the United States participated in the one-minute silence of the Security Council and if he believes this action is appropriate.

The spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated Washington’s usual claims about the records of the political and judicial activities of Martyr Ayatollah Raisi and said: However, we are not happy about the death of anyone in a helicopter crash.

Miller claimed: The United States of America will continue to support the Iranian people regarding their human and constitutional rights and confront the government of this country in the field of supporting terrorism and expanding the nuclear program, which has no civilian justification.

The members of the UN Security Council held a minute of silence at the beginning of their meeting on Monday local time in honor of the martyrdom of President Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir abdollahian and their companions.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi had an air accident on his way back from the opening ceremony of Qiz Qalasi Dam to Tabriz city, in Warzghan region of East Azarbaijan Province, and along with Hossein Amir abdollahian and other companions, he was martyred at the same time as Imam Reza (AS) was born.

Seyyed Mohammad Ali Al Hashem, the representative of the Supreme Leader and Juma Imam of Tabriz, Malik Rahmati, the Governor of East Azerbaijan, Sergeant Seyed Mehdi Mousavi, the commander of the President’s Protection Unit, and a number of bodyguards and helicopter crew were among the passengers of the helicopter carrying the President.
