America’s Deceptive Game to Strip Lebanon of Power and Continue Israeli Aggression.

After several weeks of presenting the so-called US proposal to Lebanon, which is actually Washington’s dictates and demands and the Lebanese government’s unified response to it, American pressure has increased in recent days and threatening messages have reached Beirut from Washington, emphasizing and declaring the need to resolve the Hezbollah weapons issue as soon as possible, and the circumstances no longer allow for further delay.

This was after the unofficial US reaction to the rejection of the proposal by Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, which was conveyed to him during the third visit of Tom Barak, the US envoy to Beirut.

America’s deceptive game to deprive Lebanon of power and continue Israeli aggression

Official Lebanese sources told the Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed website in this regard: Contacts were established with Tom Barak and the Americans, during which the Americans announced that Nabih Berri’s proposal was unacceptable, especially regarding providing guarantees to Lebanon and stopping Israeli attacks on the country.

According to these sources, the Americans said that Washington wants Lebanon to take the first step and that the country’s government meeting should be convened as soon as possible, with the agenda of disarming Hezbollah and monopolizing weapons in the hands of the government. No agreement has yet been reached on the date of the government meeting, but contacts and consultations in this regard are continuing, especially at the level of the speaker of parliament, the prime minister and the president, and everyone emphasizes that the issue of monopolizing weapons in the hands of the government should be resolved through consensus and internal consultation, not through tension and conflict, which could lead the country to a very bad place.

The sources emphasized: Contacts, especially with the supporters of the ceasefire agreement, namely the Americans and the French, are continuing to pressure Israel to stop its attacks for a while so that Lebanon can take action, but despite this, the Americans emphasize that they do not give any guarantees that Israel will stop its aggression and that it is Lebanon that must first take action to disarm Hezbollah.
