America’s new claim aimed at intensifying global pressure against Russia

PNN – At the same time as the 29th meeting of the member states of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons was held, a senior official of the US State Department told the “Semaphor” news website that Washington is seeking to increase global pressure on Russia for allegedly using chemical weapons in Ukraine.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the American Semaphore website reported that At this week’s meeting of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which will be held in The Hague, the Netherlands, from November 25 to 29, the United States asks more than 190 member countries to unanimously demand the cessation of the use of chemical weapons by Russia.

According to this media, this annual meeting is held while the organization announced for the first time that chemical weapons were used in Ukraine and Kyiv reported more than 4,000 chemical incidents. While it is unclear whether the US will take new measures to punish Russia for violating the global ban on chemical weapons, the source said that US officials plan to discuss the “most effective next steps” with partners and allies.

The United States and the United Kingdom have previously warned against Russia’s illegal use of banned suffocating agents and sanctioned Russian forces involved in the use of these weapons on the battlefield, as well as other individuals and companies associated with Russia’s chemical and biological weapons programs.

Russia has denied these accusations and accused Ukraine of planning to use chemical weapons.
