PNN – As military clashes between Saudi- and Emirati-backed mercenaries in Yemen intensify, the United States is scrambling to unite them against the Ansarullah forces.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network by Al-Akhbar newspaper, Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (Emirati-backed mercenaries) is expanding its areas of influence in the east of the country. This move is being carried out under the pretext of securing the provinces of Hadramout and Al-Mahrah, but in reality aims at advancing toward northern regions.
It appears that efforts are underway to ignite northern fronts against the Ansarullah forces. These moves are taking place at the same time as Saudi pressure on Emirati-backed mercenaries to withdraw from the aforementioned provinces. The United States also believes that the conflict between Saudi- and Emirati-backed mercenaries in Yemen must be resolved so that both sides can unite to confront the Ansarullah forces.
In this context, the U.S. Secretary of State recently held talks with his Emirati counterpart on the need to achieve stability in southern Yemen. Informed sources in southern Yemen stated that the UAE intends to unify its mercenaries to confront the Ansarullah forces.
The U.S. ambassador to Yemen has also held several meetings with members of the so-called Presidential Council as well as activists from the Southern Transitional Council, emphasizing the necessity of uniting against the Ansarullah forces.
This comes as Emirati-backed mercenaries have, over the past two days, taken control of the remaining institutions in Al-Mahrah province and dispatched new military equipment toward Hadramout. Meanwhile, Saudi warplanes have continued flying over Hadramout, and drones said to be conducting intelligence missions against Emirati-backed mercenaries have been spotted over the area. Saudi pressure on Emirati-backed mercenaries to withdraw from the two provinces has failed, and attention is now focused on the possibility of clashes in Hadramout involving Saudi-backed mercenaries with air support from Riyadh.
