America’s warning to Israel in case of a more severe attack on Gaza and increasing international pressure

PNN – An American media published details of the talks of the US Secretary of State Anthony (Tony) Blinken in the meeting with the officials of the Israeli regime: Blinken did not ask Tel Aviv to stop future attacks against southern Gaza, but warned them that the more intense and prolonged these attacks are, the more international pressure will be placed on America and Israel to stop them.

According to Pakistan News Network, the American Axios website wrote on Thursday local time, quoting three officials familiar with Blinken’s negotiations with Israeli authorities: Israel’s military operations in Gaza, including in the southern Gaza Strip, are expected to last “more than a few more weeks,” Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army Gen. Herzei Holloway told US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on Thursday.

This analytical report states: The White House is increasingly concerned that Israel’s operations in the southern Gaza Strip – where 2 million Palestinians are concentrated – will result in significant civilian casualties and deepen the humanitarian crisis in the region.

Early in the war, Israel ordered more than a million Palestinians to evacuate northern Gaza and move south before launching a ground offensive. Israel has also prevented Palestinians from returning to northern Gaza during a humanitarian pause in the fighting.

Axios previously reported that US President Joe Biden warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this week that Israel’s style of operation in northern Gaza, which involved a massive offensive with three armored and infantry divisions, could not be repeated in southern Gaza.

Two informed sources said that the possibility of Israeli attacks in southern Gaza was the main topic of conversation between the two officials, and one source called the conversation a “frank exchange of views.”

Two of the sources said that Blinken first opened the conversation by asking the chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to explain the Israeli army’s plans for southern Gaza and asking him how long Israel estimated the military operation to be at its current level.

Axios wrote that the US State Department declined to comment, and the Prime Minister’s Office and the Israeli military did not respond to requests for comment.

Blinken did not ask Israel to stop the operation, but expressed concern that the more intense the military operation continues, the more international pressure will increase on the US and Israel to stop it, a source said.

According to the sources, Blinken, speaking to the Israeli war cabinet, asked Tel Aviv to take more measures to ensure that military operations in southern Gaza do not lead to more civilian casualties.

In response to Blinken, Netanyahu, Yoav Galant (War Minister) and Holloway claimed that ground operations in southern Gaza would cause fewer civilian casualties than airstrikes, the three sources said.

This American media wrote that it is not clear whether the army of this regime will carry out simultaneous ground and air operations in southern Gaza, like the attacks in northern Gaza.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, more than 14,800 Palestinians have been martyred since the start of the war.

In a statement after the meeting with Blinken, Netanyahu said that Israel will continue the war until it achieves three goals, and those three goals are “the release of all hostages, the complete destruction of Hamas, and ensuring that there will be no more threats like this from Gaza.”

“I told Blinken, we have sworn to destroy Hamas. Nothing will stop us,” Netanyahu said.
