As the ambassador of your country, you met with the foreign minister of Iran. What do you think was his most important personality trait? How would you describe him in terms of hard work and dynamism?
I was deeply affected by the news of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Raisi, the honorable president and foreign minister and his companions. Amir Abdullahian was a wonderful person. His poise, humility, accuracy and foresight deeply impressed me. He was very kind to me personally. In terms of personality, I think that he was one of the most important politicians in the world.
In your opinion, how serious was he in protecting Iran’s national interests?
He had a deep view on geopolitical issues. From a strategic point of view, he was transparent and strongly committed to pursuing Iran’s interests.
How effective were his actions in strengthening the relations between Iran and your country?
Amir Abdullahian had a close relationship with Pakistan and his goal was to stabilize and strengthen the relations between Islamabad and Tehran. He visited Pakistan in late January with the aim of strengthening mutual trust between the leaders and people of the two countries.
When the foreign minister traveled to Pakistan again in April with the honorable president of Iran, he had wonderful meetings with the officials of this country and played a significant role in strengthening and deepening our relations, and this role will be remembered for years to come.
In my country, people are grieving and expressing their condolences from the bottom of their hearts. These two characters were really popular in Pakistan and have a place in the hearts of our people. The people of Pakistan are still with the Iranians at this critical and bitter moment.
It should be noted that Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the President of our country, was martyred in the helicopter crash on Sunday evening. Raisi had traveled to East Azarbaijan to open the “Qiz Qalasi” border dam, and the helicopter carrying him and his companions had an accident on the way back in the “Dizmar Forest” in the general area between Varzeghan and Jolfa in East Azarbaijan province.
Ayatollah Al-Hashem, Friday Imam of Tabriz, Hossein AmirAbdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Malik Rahmati, Governor of East Azerbaijan and several other people accompanying the President in this helicopter are among the martyrs of this accident.
