PNN – Amnesty International strongly criticized the US President’s statements and warned of the humanitarian consequences of threatening to attack Iran’s infrastructure.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network; Amnesty International has expressed its disgust in a statement over former US President Donald Trump’s threats to target critical Iranian facilities.

According to Al-Mayadeen, Amnesty International said Trump’s threat to attack Iranian power plants and bridges was “deeply repugnant” and could have catastrophic consequences for civilians.

The organization also warned that such threats could lead to a “wave of war crimes,” as ordinary civilians would be the most affected in such attacks.

The human rights organization went on to emphasize that such approaches could constitute serious violations of international law.

The statement came after the US president threatened to target power plants and bridges in Iran if the Strait of Hormuz was not opened.

In this regard, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Parliament, wrote in response to the US President’s threats: Your baseless moves will turn America into a real hell for every single American family, and our entire region will be set on fire because of your insistence on obeying Netanyahu’s orders. Make no mistake; you will not achieve anything with war crimes. The only real solution is to respect the rights of the Iranian people and end this dangerous game.
