PNN – An Afghan media outlet has described the future of peace talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan as uncertain, following the failure of a planned Turkish delegation to travel to Islamabad.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Afghanistan’s Tolo News reported that despite Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s announcement last week that a Turkish delegation would visit Pakistan to help restart talks between Kabul and Islamabad, the trip has still not taken place.

The Afghan outlet added that neither Pakistani nor Turkish officials have offered any explanation, raising questions about whether peace negotiations between Kabul and Islamabad will continue.

Last week, Erdoğan said that a Turkish delegation would soon head to Pakistan to discuss finalizing a ceasefire agreement between the Pakistani government and the Afghan Taliban.

The third round of talks between the Taliban and Pakistan, held in Istanbul, ended without any concrete result, with both sides accusing each other of lacking a cooperative spirit.
