PNN – The Washington Post quoted an American official as saying on Wednesday night: It is foolish to think that Nasrallah will surrender with heavy airstrikes.

This Pentagon official, whose name was not mentioned, said: We informed Israel that our support for them will not be unconditional.

The Pentagon official added: Opening a new front will not be the fastest way to return the residents of northern Israel.

Several US and Israeli officials also told The Washington Post that there was uncertainty about how a deal could be reached in the short term.
An unnamed Israeli official also claimed in an interview with the Washington Post: The military operation in Lebanon was not started with the aim of starting a large-scale war.
