Analysts of Israeli issues: Netanyahu is in the weakest possible situation.

Analysts of Israeli issues: Netanyahu is in the weakest possible situation.

According to Al Jazeera, experts and analysts on the Israeli regime believe that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to convince the Israeli public of the positive approach to the ceasefire and prisoner exchange, while it seems that he himself does not believe in this.

Journalist and analyst on the Israeli regime Tamer Al-Mishhal says that the Israeli regime prevented the resistance from carrying out the first phase of the exchange by failing to create peace on the ground two days before the agreement was to be implemented.

He clarified that the first phase of the exchange includes the release of 33 Israeli prisoners, which include, in order of priority, civilian women, military women, men, and the bodies of the deceased. In exchange for each female Israeli prisoner, 30 Palestinian female prisoners should be released, and for each female prisoner, 30 Palestinian female prisoners and 20 prisoners with high sentences should be released.

Al-Mashhal says that the resistance opposes the idea of exchanging the bodies of deceased prisoners and will hand over the bodies of Zionist prisoners in exchange for the release of all women and children detained after October 7, 2023.

Mohamed Mustafa, an expert on the Israeli regime, also believes that Netanyahu seems to be in his weakest condition since entering the world of politics.

Mustafa adds: that Netanyahu appeared very weak in his speech and was trying to convince the Zionist public to accept an agreement that everyone knows he does not accept and that he was forced to accept due to internal and external pressures.

Al-Jazeera correspondent Elias Karam adds that during Netanyahu’s speech, thousands of people had gathered in Tel Aviv and demanded the immediate implementation of the prisoner exchange and ceasefire and an agreement on it in the second phase, and they are worried that Netanyahu wants to sabotage the second phase.

Muhannad Mustafa considers the failure of the agreement in the second phase unlikely and believes that although Netanyahu is trying to do this, the Zionist regime believes that if this happens, tensions in the West Bank will increase. This is an issue that the head of the Shin Bet also mentioned during the meeting approving the ceasefire agreement.

Another political expert, Saeed Ziad, believes that Netanyahu cannot declare an end to the war in Gaza, because this will cause him to be caught in court.
