Anger at biased narrative/again objection to BBC coverage of Gaza war

PNN – Palestine supporters in the UK have once again protested the biased reporting of BBC of the Gaza war by throwing red paint and breaking the entrance doors of the building.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, this protest action was carried out by the “Palestine Action” group, which issued a statement accusing the BBC of “distorting the facts” of the war in Gaza.

A spokesperson for the group said in a statement: This is not just a protest against the news, but an effort to shed light on the media’s role in shaping global complicity. The BBC is responsible for its coverage of crimes against Palestinians and we will not allow it to continue to whitewash genocide.

This is the second time that the BBC building in London has been the target of such a protest. In October 2023, pro-Palestinian activists protested the network’s approach to the Gaza war by spraying red paint on the facade of this building.

The London police issued a statement announcing that they received a report of damage to the BBC building on Portland Street around 2:50 a.m. local time. According to the police statement, preliminary investigations show that red paint was splashed on the walls of the building and the glass entrance doors were broken. No one has been arrested yet and the investigation is ongoing.

The BBC has yet to officially respond to the protest, but has previously denied claims of biased news coverage.

Meanwhile, critics believe that the coverage of the Gaza war in the Western mainstream media, including the BBC, mainly reflects the narrative of the Israeli regime. Pro-Palestinian groups have repeatedly accused this network of censorship and distortion of facts. They say that by using words like “conflict” or “conflict” instead of “war crimes” and “genocide”, the BBC is helping to sanitize the actions of the Zionist regime.

In recent months, the wave of protests against the Western media has intensified due to the way it covers the Gaza war. Earlier, protesters in different cities of Europe and America attacked the offices of major media outlets and demanded a change in their approach.

BBC is one of the media that has always been accused of being biased in its coverage of Palestinian and Israeli news. This network was the target of massive protests during the 51-day Gaza war in 2014. At that time, thousands of protesters gathered in front of the network’s headquarters in London and demanded more impartial coverage of events.

The new research of the whistleblower organization “Youke Declassified” also shows that the BBC has published little information about British military aid to the Zionist regime in the last 15 months, and in many cases, it has ignored the important military, intelligence and political cooperation between London and Tel Aviv.

The Zionist regime’s war against Gaza has so far killed and injured tens of thousands of Palestinians, including women and children, and destroyed the infrastructure of this region. According to UN reports, more than 70% of Gaza’s 2.3 million people are displaced and live in inhumane conditions.
