PNN – The Holy Alavi Shrine announced its plans for the 14th International Ghadir Week.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing ISNA, this event will be held in the porches of the holy shrine of Ali (AS) and includes an extensive plan in the religious, cultural, and artistic fields, which has been described as unique compared to other domestic and foreign ceremonies in Iraq.
This ceremony began on Tuesday, 14th Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH, and will continue until Friday, 24th Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH.
Press conference with the presence of media institutions
The announcement was made during a press conference held by the head of the Astan’s media department, Mr. Haider Rahim, in the courtyard of Hazrat Zahra (peace be upon her) and in the hall of Hazrat Amina (peace be upon her). The press conference was attended by reporters from satellite networks, news agencies, and a group of journalists and media activists.
Using advertising symbols to introduce the glory of Ghadir
Mr. Haider Rahim mentioned that the activities of the 14th International Ghadir Week have already begun with promotional symbols to magnificently introduce this auspicious occasion at the local, national, and international levels. So that about 40 activities will be carried out during a week with the collective efforts of the active departments at the Holy Alawi Shrine in coordination with the Planning and Development Center to highlight this great occasion, so that it will be a gateway for communication between the thought of Ghadir and our social and cultural reality through programs that highlight the identity of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) as the measure of justice, knowledge, and humanity.
Raising the Ghadir Flag
The head of Astan’s media department named the raising of the Ghadir flag as one of the most important activities of the Ghadir celebration week, which will be carried out in the Alawite holy shrine and in various provinces of Iraq and other parts of the world with more than 700 flags. It should be noted that some of these special flags will be raised during official and central celebrations, while others will be flown in social, literary, religious, and cultural circles within Iraq and around the world in various continents of Asia, Africa, Europe, America, and Australia, in about 40 countries. In addition, 35,000 meters of fabric decorations will be installed in Najaf province and its cities.
Inauguration of the symbolic monument of Ghadir Khum
Mr. Haider Rahim pointed out the initiative of the Holy Shrine of Alavi in ​​inaugurating a unique project entitled “Ghadir Building”, which will be located in the center of Najaf Ashraf and will be an architectural, tourist and service building with an area of ​​over 50,000 square meters that depicts the eternal event of Ghadir in a modern architectural style that evokes authenticity. It can be said that this is the first permanent square structure built for this occasion in the Islamic world.
Equipping the media center and media platform
The head of the media department mentioned providing a media platform and an integrated media center that meets all the needs of media people, and also announced sending 5 million congratulatory SMS messages on the occasion of this great Eid.
Alevi hospitality and the construction of a permanent guesthouse for foreign pilgrims
The head of the media department concluded his remarks by referring to the preparation of places by the Alawi Holy Shrine to receive the pilgrims of Ghadir through 10 main places and 15 public processions with the support of the Alawi Holy Shrine, along with the establishment of a permanent guest house at Najaf Ashraf International Airport to commemorate this auspicious occasion and receive foreign pilgrims.
It should be noted that this year’s activities at the Shrine are the largest and most extensive activities carried out in commemoration of this great Muslim occasion and emphasize the importance of adhering to the principles of Imamate and guardianship of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.).
