PNN – During a tense meeting at the White House with his South African counterpart, the US President bombarded him with false claims about “white genocide” and “land grabbing”!
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Reuters, US President Donald Trump bombarded South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with false claims about the genocide of Afrikaners and land grabbing during a tense meeting that was reminiscent of the controversial February altercation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
Ramaphosa had hoped to use the White House meeting to restore South Africa’s ties with the United States. Trump had previously cut off much-needed aid to South Africa, granted asylum to scores of white South Africans, expelled the country’s ambassador, and criticized South Africa’s genocide lawsuit against Israel.
According to Reuters, the South African president arrived at the White House prepared for an aggressive reception, bringing a number of prominent white African golfers as part of his delegation to Washington, saying he intended to discuss trade issues during the meeting.

The United States is South Africa’s second largest trading partner, and the country faces 30 percent tariffs under Trump’s current tariffs, although these tariffs have been suspended for now.
However, in a carefully planned attack in the Oval Office, Trump immediately posted a list of concerns about the treatment of white South Africans, playing a video and flipping through a wealth of news articles to try to substantiate his accusations and claims.
The video featured white crosses, which Trump said symbolized the graves of thousands of white people who were killed. In addition, scenes of some opposition leaders giving fiery speeches were shown, and the US president called for the arrest of one of them!
He, who had Elon Musk, the famous American billionaire born in South Africa, by his side in the Oval Office, claimed: People are fleeing South Africa for their own safety. Their land is being confiscated and in many cases they are being killed themselves.
The source of Trump’s claim is a conspiracy theory that has been circulating in far-right chat rooms for at least a decade, and Musk supports it!
South Africa, which suffered centuries of oppression and discrimination against black people during colonialism and apartheid before becoming a multi-party democracy in 1994 under the leadership of Nelson Mandela, has rejected Trump’s claims.
South Africa has passed a controversial law that allows the government to expropriate private land without compensation. Police recorded 26,232 murders across South Africa in 2024, 44 of which involved farming communities and eight of the victims were farmers.
Ramaphosa, who sat confidently next to Trump in the meeting, rejected his claims.
Referring to Ernie Els and Retief Ghosn, famous golfers, as well as Johan Rupert, an African billionaire, all of whom are white and were present in the room, he said: If there was genocide of African farmers, I dare say these three would not be here right now.
Trump specifically rejected these statements.
He also referred to South Africa’s lawsuit against the Zionist regime at the International Court of Justice on charges of “genocide” and said that he “does not expect this case to go anywhere”!
