Ansar Allah: America’s attempt to portray the Red Sea as unsafe has failed.
A spokesman for the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen today stated that America’s attempt to portray the Red Sea as unsafe has failed, and its naval coalition against Yemen has not been welcomed due to a lack of legitimacy.
Mohammed Abdul Salam, the spokesman for the Houthi movement in Yemen, said in an interview with “Euronews” that the international waters in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea are safe and stable, with hundreds of ships passing through the Red Sea daily. The American coalition in the Red Sea is only present to support “Israel.”
He emphasized that Sanaa has explicitly stated that it only targets Israeli ships or those related to it, or ships heading to occupied Palestine. He stressed: “This coalition has failed to convince the world that there are dangers in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea (Makran).”
Regarding the non-participation of some countries like Spain, France, and Italy in the American coalition in the Red Sea, Abdul Salam said: Doubt and reluctance to join this coalition result from the lack of acceptable legitimacy from an ethical and legal perspective. These countries know that their ships pass through the Red Sea every day. The Yemeni navy is in contact with all the ships daily.
This Yemeni official emphasized: “America’s efforts to pressure some companies not to pass through the Red Sea are an attempt to extort some countries to join this coalition to protect Israel… The Red Sea is safe, and the Bab el-Mandeb is safe for all ships except Israeli ships.”
Forming a new naval coalition is one of the options for the United States and Israel to confront the armed forces in Yemen that target the interests of the occupying regime in the Red Sea. The non-participation of various countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, in this coalition, has shrouded its formation in ambiguity, especially since Sanaa has announced that it will continue its attacks against the interests of Israeli occupiers, regardless of whether the American coalition will continue.
