PNN – A member of the political bureau of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement warned against the Zionist regime’s plan for direct presence in the south of the country through UAE mercenaries.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al Mayadeen, Mohammed Al-Farah, a member of the political bureau of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, emphasized that what is being carried out by elements of the Southern Transitional Council (UAE mercenaries) in this country is not a national project but rather serves the UAE’s demands to fragment Yemen.

He added: The developments in southern Yemen aim to turn this region into a place for unlimited foreign influence and the implementation of their projects, paving the way for the direct presence of Zionists.

Saudi Defense Minister warns Emirati mercenaries in Yemen

Al-Farah stated: Saudi interventions in Yemen have never been for the unity and sovereignty of this country. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are dividing roles to occupy Yemen and plunder its resources, and this matter cannot be achieved without using internal mercenaries.

He clarified: We oppose all these schemes and reject any guardianship over Yemen by any party. Any political or military project not based on Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is considered a hostile project. Yemen is not a sphere of influence for any country nor a prize to be divided among others.

It is worth noting that clashes between UAE and Saudi mercenaries in eastern and southern Yemen have intensified for weeks. These clashes reached such a level that the US has also expressed concern over the widening rift among these mercenaries.

Hadramaut and Al Mahrah provinces in eastern Yemen have become one of the main focal points of competition between UAE and Saudi mercenaries. The so-called UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council forces have gained control of oil-rich areas, and this advancement has faced Saudi reactions, to the extent that Saudi Arabia has demanded the Southern Transitional Council withdraw its forces from Hadramaut and Al Mahrah and reduce tensions.

The Southern Transitional Council of Yemen was formed in 2017 with the direct support of the United Arab Emirates and has had deep disputes with the Saudi-backed self-proclaimed Yemeni government from the beginning; disputes that have repeatedly led to armed clashes in Aden and other southern regions over the years.

In recent years, concurrently with the reduction of Saudi Arabia’s direct role in the Yemen war and the intensification of disputes between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, the Transitional Council has practically become a dominant actor in southern Yemen.
