Anti-Trump demonstrations in the streets of America

PNN – Thousands of American people from New York to Seattle took to the streets to express their opposition to President-elect Donald Trump’s threatening policies on reproductive rights and the promise of mass deportation of immigrants.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Guardian wrote: Demonstrations against Trump were held on Saturday at the same time as people were disappointed with his re-election.

In New York, protesters from labor and immigrant rights groups gathered outside the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, holding signs that read, “Protect us,” “Hate will never make America great.”

Other placards addressed Trump saying, “We will not back down.” Protesters also chanted “we are here and we will not leave here”.

Some of the protestors had thrown masks in order to express solidarity with the Palestinians in the midst of the deadly war of the Zionist regime in Gaza.

“Solidarity is the answer” was a slogan that was seen on one of the protesters’ placards in protest against the Zionist regime’s attacks on Gaza and the US government’s policy of supporting this regime.

According to the Guardian, similar protests were held in Washington, DC. Protesters gathered in front of the Heritage Foundation think tank, and images posted on social media showed women chanting “We believe we are winning.”

In Seattle, protesters gathered outside the Space Needle tower carrying placards that read, “Demonstrate against Trump and the bipartisan war machine,” “Start a grassroots movement, and with war, Fight oppression and genocide.”

One of the protesters said: Every president who came to power in America has disappointed the workers.

On Friday, American protesters took part in a similar demonstration against Trump outside the city hall in Portland, Oregon. The placards they were holding contained messages such as “Fight Fascism” and “Turn fear into struggle”.

On Friday, dozens of protesters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, showed their protest because of Trump’s victory. They also carried placards and chanted slogans to refrain from withdrawing and to assert the rights of women and immigrants.

Steve Capri, the organizer of the “Socialist Alternative” group in America, said: “Trump is an attack on all of us, and therefore we need to unite, we need to organize, joint movements, research and education together.”
