PNN – The United States, the European Union and a number of Arab and Western countries in a joint statement called for an immediate 21-day ceasefire in the conflicts between Lebanon and the Zionist regime.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Associated Press, this joint statement was negotiated on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and published on Thursday.
The statement said that the recent clashes between Lebanon and Israel “are intolerable and there is an unacceptable risk of widespread regional tension”.
This statement states: We demand an immediate 21-day ceasefire on the Lebanese-Israeli border in order to create space for diplomacy. We call on all parties, including the governments of Israel and Lebanon, to immediately support a temporary ceasefire.

On the other hand, Presidents of the United States and France, Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron, announced that this statement was supported by the United States, Australia, Canada, the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barot announced parts of the joint plan between Paris and the United States to establish a ceasefire between Lebanon and the Zionist regime at the emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Thursday.
In this meeting, which was held at the request of Paris, he said: “In recent days, we have worked on a 21-day temporary ceasefire with the cooperation of our American partners in order to provide the possibility of negotiations.”
Barot stated that “today the situation in Lebanon may reach the point of no return” and stated that Israel’s attacks have caused high casualties in Lebanon.
Emphasizing that more details about the American and French plan will be announced soon, the French foreign minister said: I ask both sides to accept the ceasefire without delay.
