Arab countries react sharply to Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza City.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the Israeli army’s ground invasion of Gaza City.
The statement said: Saudi Arabia condemns the continued commission of crimes against the Palestinian people by Israel, which are taking place while the international community has failed to take effective measures to stop this criminal approach based on violations of international law and international human rights.
In a separate statement, the Qatari Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli army’s ground operations in Gaza, calling them part of a “genocidal war against the Palestinian people” and a “flagrant violation of international law.”
Qatar warned that these planned actions are aimed at undermining the opportunities for peace in the region and pose a serious threat to regional and global security and stability.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry also emphasized the need for decisive action by the international community to stop the invasions and protect the rights of the Palestinian people, and recalled Doha’s consistent position in supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a statement describing the launch of the ground operation in Gaza as a “dangerous escalation and a clear violation of international human rights.”
The ministry stressed that Israel’s actions reflect its insistence on brazen policies that could have very negative consequences for Palestine and the entire region.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry further warned that the operation could plunge the region into a new phase of widespread chaos.
Cairo also blamed international actors for remaining silent in the face of crimes against civilians in Gaza.
