Arab-language media analysis of the objectives of Jordan’s foreign minister’s sudden trip to Tehran

PNN – In an analytical report on Monday, “Rai El Youm” newspaper investigated the reasons behind Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi’s sudden visit to Tehran and Aman’s position regarding the developments and difficult and complex situation in the region.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Rai Alyoum newspaper has mentioned in its analytical report that Ayman Safadi suddenly left Amman for the Islamic Republic of Iran on Sunday. And this trip was very important and exceptional, and it took place following Iran’s emphasis on its vengeful response to Israel due to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement. Jordan has warned many times about the provocative actions of the Zionist regime and the expansion of military conflicts in the region.

Rai Al-Youm newspaper added: Jordan’s sovereign, political and security interests were the basis of this Safadi trip, which was carried out to Tehran in the troubled conditions of the region. This trip is the first sign of the difficult and complicated situation that the countries of the region are waiting for. The content of the Jordanian king’s message has not been disclosed, but observers have assessed that the Jordanian foreign minister’s visit to Iran is to declare neutrality in the current war between Iran and Israel.

Continuing its analysis of Jordan’s political position regarding the current situation in the region, this newspaper wrote: Jordan has made every effort to keep itself away from a possible conflict; However, the strategy of the Jordanian government is not yet clear. Certainly, the focus of Jordan’s consultation during the trip to Iran was within the framework of Amman’s desire to support its security and sovereignty in the event of a war between Iran and Israel, and this can be understood from the phone call between Safadi and his Iranian counterpart; But it seems that the Jordanian diplomatic apparatus felt that it needed something more than a telephone consultation. And for this purpose, Safadi traveled to Tehran carrying the message of his country’s king, that this trip shows Jordan’s desire to save the geography of this country from conflict and to establish political and governance understandings between Amman and Tehran.

According to Rai Alyoum, based on this sovereign need, Safadi should have consulted with the Iranians directly, and this time this consultation was done through a letter from the king at the highest level.

On Sunday, while visiting Tehran and meeting with Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri, the Jordanian Foreign Minister announced the purpose of this trip to resolve the differences between the two countries in a clear and transparent manner. This meeting was held while during the last 48 hours, Safadi and Bagheri consulted and talked twice on the phone about the latest developments in the region, especially the recent crimes of the Zionist regime, including the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’s political office, who came to Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Dr. Masoud Pezishkiyan, was martyred on Wednesday morning.

Recently, the Zionist army also assassinated Fawad Shekar, one of the top commanders of the Lebanese Hezbollah, in an attack on an apartment in the Dahiya area, south of Beirut.

Following the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh and Fawad Shekar, the authorities and senior officials of the resistance axis announced that they will avenge the blood of these commander martyrs from the Zionist regime.
