Arab Parliament Speaker: Gaza agreement is an important step towards ending genocide.
According to the official Lebanese news agency, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed al-Yamahi, while expressing his happiness over the announcement of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, considered this step an important development for ending the war, genocide and military escalation that claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people and caused severe human suffering for the Palestinian people in Gaza.
He added: “I call on all parties to fully adhere to the provisions of the agreement and to continue their efforts to calm the situation to prevent any new escalation of tension.”
Al-Yamahi stressed: “It is essential to respect international humanitarian law and protect civilians and ensure access to humanitarian aid to the affected people in Gaza.”
In his statement, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament also appreciated the tireless efforts of Egypt and Qatar in reaching the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, saying: “The role of these two countries in stopping the escalation and genocidal war and reducing the suffering of the Palestinian people has been very valuable.”
Al-Yamahi noted: The efforts of Egypt and Qatar reflect the commitment of Arab countries to the cause of the Palestinian people and their efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
He also called for the continuation of these efforts to consolidate stability and efforts to start a just and comprehensive peace process that will end the occupation and lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its center.
Al-Yamahi also called on the international community, the Security Council, free countries, and international and regional parliaments to be committed to the Palestinian issue and support the efforts of Arab countries to empower the Palestinian state to manage the Gaza Strip, help rebuild it, and provide humanitarian aid to the victims.
He added: During the war and genocide against the Palestinian people, the Arab Parliament has never failed to continue its parliamentary and diplomatic efforts to end the war in Gaza and end the suffering of its Palestinian brothers.
