PNN – In response to the statements of the head of the Palestinian Authority at the United Nations, the Hamas movement announced: As long as the occupation continues, the weapons of resistance cannot be touched.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Palestinian Shehab News Agency, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas issued a statement in response to the recent speech by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas at the United Nations General Assembly, in which he called for the disarmament of the Palestinian resistance.
The statement states: Resistance is a national and moral duty and derives its legitimacy from the resilient and steadfast Palestinian people, whose legitimate right to resist occupation is in accordance with international law.
Hamas added in the statement: We completely condemn the Palestinian Authority’s alignment with the false Zionist narrative and accusing the resistance of targeting civilians.
The statement adds: All attempts to impose a guardianship on our people and their will will fail.
We consider the claim by the head of the Palestinian Authority that Hamas will have no role in the government to be a violation of the inherent right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and an unacceptable surrender to foreign dictates and plans.
In another part of the statement, Hamas stated: As long as the occupation is rooted in our land and in the hearts of our people, we cannot touch the weapons of resistance.
We condemn the call by the head of the Palestinian Authority to hand over the weapons of the resistance, especially in light of the brutal and devastating war that our people are facing in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
Hamas added in conclusion: The only way to protect our national cause and confront the plans of the fascist occupiers is national unity and consensus on a comprehensive struggle plan to confront the occupying and criminal Zionist regime, so that the liberation of the Palestinians and their return and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital can be achieved.
