Local sources told Al-Mayadeen: Dr. Hassan Ibrahim, a professor at the Scientific Research Institute in the Damascus countryside, was kidnapped from his workplace five days ago.
The report continued: Residents of the town of Ma’raba in the Damascus suburbs found the body of this Syrian scientist, who had been shot multiple times.
The instability and insecurity in various regions of Syria after the fall of the Assad regime and the existence of various armed groups have led to crimes that are likely committed for personal reasons.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also wrote in a report: Since the beginning of 2025, 109 cases of revenge and settling of scores have occurred in various provinces of Syria, resulting in the deaths of 225 people. These people include 218 men, 6 women and 1 child.
