Associated Press story about the killing of hungry people in Gaza.

The Associated Press reported in an investigative report that American security guards working at humanitarian aid distribution sites in the Gaza Strip used live ammunition and offensive weapons against Palestinian civilians.

Two American contractors who worked on the mission reported “dangerous and irresponsible” behavior by the guards and said they had filed complaints about it. They said many of the security forces were new, lacking military experience and training, and some had been hired just days before via email.

One of the contractors revealed that his colleagues regularly used stun grenades and pepper spray on people and even opened fire on civilians waiting to receive aid.

The Associated Press wrote that the report showed that the management of the aid distribution operation was very chaotic, lacking clear instructions and without effective leadership. The engagement instructions were only given to the guards three days after the mission began, and as a result, the injury rate in the operations was high.
