Atwan: Gaza’s rulers are its defenders.

Abdul Bari Atwan, editor-in-chief of the trans-regional newspaper Rai al-Youm and a prominent analyst of the Arab world, dedicated the new editorial of this electronic newspaper to the recent movements of the Palestinian Authority and the plan of the Zionists and their allies to dominate the Gaza Strip and eliminate the resistance from there, and wrote: From time to time, we hear news from the United States, the Zionist regime, and some Arab countries that reveal the names of the future rulers of the Gaza Strip, most of whom are businessmen who have no connection with the resistance, the government, or even the Gaza Strip itself.

The rulers of Gaza will be those who defend it

Abdul Bari Atwan, referring to a report in Hebrew media that over the past few months the PA has secretly advanced the process of appointing a new ruler of Gaza, a person named “Samir Halila”, a famous Palestinian businessman, who will govern the Gaza Strip with the help and supervision of the Arab League, said: “They (America, Israel, the PA and the Arab countries) are behaving as if the people of Gaza, who number more than two and a half million and have resisted the enemy for more than 22 months, are children and ignorant, and none of them has the authority to govern Gaza.”

The Palestinian writer emphasized: “The Gaza Strip will only be governed by those who defend it, those who have shed blood for this cause and who have stood against aggression, genocide and hunger.” The people of Gaza are not listening to the orders of Donald Trump, the US President, or Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the occupation regime, or any of the Arab regimes that have disappointed us and watched the Zionist crimes against the people of Gaza and have not given even a carton of milk or a loaf of bread to the children of Gaza.

Netanyahu’s fate in Gaza will be more bitter than Sharon’s

The article continues: When Trump, whose hands are stained with the blood of more than 61,000 people in Gaza, half of whom are children, says that Hamas cannot stay in the Gaza Strip and that Netanyahu has drawn up a new plan to occupy the Gaza Strip, these are complete nonsense and an attempt to assert power. Netanyahu and his generals are hesitant to launch a large-scale invasion of the Gaza Strip because they know very well that they will not succeed in this invasion and that their human and material losses will be very high.

Referring to the shameful defeat of the Israeli army in Gaza in 2025 during the Ariel Sharon era, Abdul Bari Atwan emphasized: Those who fled the Gaza Strip in defeat in mid-2005 after dismantling 21 settlements to reduce the increasing casualties in their ranks on a night know very well that falling into this trap again will have much greater consequences. That is why Netanyahu and his accomplices hesitate to carry out their threats despite receiving the green light from the United States.

According to the note, Hamas is a movement that withdrew from the negotiations and did not request to return to the negotiating table. Even if this movement returns to the negotiating table, it will be as a result of the pleas of Arab mediators who want to save Netanyahu from the predicament. We hope that the steadfast and steadfast leadership of the resistance in the Gaza Strip will not succumb to pressure and will fully adhere to its conditions of not negotiating under fire and hunger.
