PNN – Abdul Bari Atwan, an Arab writer and political analyst, said: All of this US military buildup to attack Iran is being done as part of a psychological war to intimidate Iran and pressure it to return to the negotiating table and surrender to US conditions, give up its advanced missile systems, and completely stop uranium enrichment; but in reality, this blackmail and psychological war will have no results.
Trump’s action in sending an aircraft carrier is a military tactic to intimidate enemies, but it cannot have any effect against a powerful regional country like Iran. A country that has come a long way in terms of military self-sufficiency, the development of missile industries, and the construction of advanced submarines and defensive and offensive drones. This is in addition to 45 years of resistance and perseverance against sanctions and more than 3 attempts by enemies to change the regime.
It is certain that Iran does not want war; but it will respond to any American-Israeli aggression with all its military capabilities. Iran’s strongest weapon is its power and ability to endure long and comprehensive wars, which contradicts the American view of launching quick and short wars.
While Trump has intensified his threats and pressure on Iran to accept America’s conditions and return to negotiations, Major General Amir Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, emphasized that more than a thousand new drones have been added to the Iranian air force to target US land and sea targets, including aircraft carriers and warships.
But from our perspective, important and sensitive statements were made by Ali Shamkhani, a close advisor to Imam Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution; he emphasized that any American aggression, whether widespread or limited, will be responded to by bombing Tel Aviv; and this will mean the beginning of an all-out war.
We say that these statements are very dangerous and were made on the orders of Seyyed Khamenei and reflect Iran’s strategy, which has been agreed upon in meetings of the ruling elite and religious, political, and military institutions.
On the other hand, Iran will not face this aggression alone; rather, it will enjoy the support of its allies in the region and honorable people in the Arab and Islamic world.
Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary General of Lebanese Hezbollah, announced that the Islamic Resistance will not be neutral in any American aggression and will stand with Iran and the Velayat al-Faqih. Sayyed Nawaf Mousavi, one of the senior leaders of Lebanese Hezbollah, indicated that he does not consider participation in the war unlikely. In response to a question about Hezbollah’s direct participation in the war, he said: When we reach the bridge, we will cross it.
We do not think it unlikely that Trump will back down from his threats at the last moment, not only because he is a coward, but also because he will fear the consequences of this attack. And perhaps this retreat is at the direct request of “Israel,” which two weeks ago begged Trump to postpone the attack because it fears the massive destruction and material and human losses resulting from Iran’s inevitable response.
The Iranian armed forces have no choice but to fight, but they will end the war because, contrary to the claims of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Iran is not at its weakest. On the contrary, according to all analysts, Iran is now very strong. Especially after it contained the unrest that was instigated by America and “Israel” and their mercenaries and resisted and stood firm in the 12-day war. The price of surrender will be much higher than the price of resistance and struggle to defend honor, dignity and sovereignty.
