Atwan: Islamabad-Riyadh defense pact is a big shock for Tel Aviv.

“Abdul Bari Atwan,” a well-known Arab analyst, in an article in the Rai Al-Youm newspaper, referring to the defense treaty between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, said: What does the signing of the nuclear deterrence treaty between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan mean? What are the reasons that accelerated the signing of this treaty? What will its consequences be on the Arab and global balance of power? Will this treaty be the core of the Arab and Islamic NATO? Where does Iran stand in this story?

Atwan stated: The strategic defense treaty between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, which was signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, is an unprecedented military and political development and a very strong message to the Israeli occupation regime that the Islamic world is not a common land free of nuclear deterrence.

He added: We are not exaggerating if we say that this amazing treaty may be the core of the Islamic treaty similar to the NATO treaty in the shadow of the growing threat from Israel; Especially since the world is on the verge of a major change at the leadership level because China is on the verge of taking over the world leadership on the ruins of the American empire, which is eroding and declining economically, militarily and politically.

Atwan continued: Several reasons accelerated this agreement by the two signatories, which can be summarized as follows;

First, the recent Israeli attack on Qatar was carried out with the support, alignment and green light of US President Donald Trump, who considers Qatar an ally of Washington and the largest US base in the Middle East is on its soil.

Second, the public mention of the so-called “Greater Israel” plan by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
