Axios: US Secretary of State to travel to the Middle East.
According to the website Rossiya El-Youm, the American website Axios, citing informed sources in Tel Aviv, announced that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio plans to travel to the Middle East, including the occupied territories, in mid-February.
This will be Rubio’s first trip to the region since taking office as the new US Secretary of State. The trip is scheduled to take place at the height of regional tensions over Trump’s plan for “American control of the Gaza Strip.”
While the leaders of the Zionist regime have praised the plan and have begun steps to implement its preparations, countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and other countries in the region have expressed their strong opposition to it.
Five Arab foreign ministers and a senior Palestinian official sent a joint letter to Marco Rubio early last week, expressing concern about Trump’s plan to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Diplomatic officials in Tel Aviv and two sources familiar with the matter told Axios that Rubio plans to travel to countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and possibly other countries in addition to the occupied territories.
