Ayatollah Sistani: The purpose of the terrorist attack in Pakistan was to sabotage Muslim unity.

The office of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani, the highest Shiite authority in Najaf Ashraf, announced in a statement published by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Once again, extremist terrorists committed a horrific crime and attacked travelers on the way from Parachinar to Peshawar, Pakistan, in which a large number of innocent believers were martyred and several others were injured.”

The statement continued: “While expressing our deepest condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families, we ask God Almighty for the highest ranks for the martyrs of this incident and a speedy recovery for the injured.”

The statement emphasized: “The Najaf Ashraf Seminary and the highest Shiite authority in Iraq condemn this heinous crime that was carried out to disrupt the unity of Muslims.”

These two Shiite religious institutions in Iraq called on the Pakistani government to take effective measures to protect defenseless citizens from the cruelty and crimes of terrorist groups.”

The statement concluded by emphasizing that the Islamabad government should take preventive measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks and protect innocent Muslims from the brutal violence of extremist groups.

In the terrorist attack on Shiites in Parachinar, Pakistan, which occurred on Friday evening, more than 40 people have been martyred so far.
