Azerbaijan plane crash: At least 29 out of 72 passengers rescued.

Reuters, citing Kazakh officials, announced that 29 of the 72 people on board the crashed Azerbaijani plane survived on the country’s territory; there were 67 passengers and 5 crew members on board.

Officials said that four bodies have been found so far.

Following the deadly incident, the Azerbaijani government declared a day of national mourning.

Earlier, the AFP news agency reported that only 14 people survived the incident, citing medical sources, while the Kazakh Health Minister said that six.

Hours ago, local sources in Kazakhstan reported that a passenger plane belonging to the Azerbaijan Airlines company crashed in Aktau, Kazakhstan.

It is said that there were 70 people on board the plane and it was flying from Baku to Grozny, Russia when it crashed in Aktau, Kazakhstan after requesting an emergency landing.

The Kazakh Ministry of Transport announced that 37 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 Russian citizens, 6 Kazakhs, and 3 Kyrgyz citizens were on the plane. The nationality of the other passengers is still unknown.
