Baghdad: A thousand children of ISIS members were returned to their countries

Pak Sahafat – The spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Justice announced today that more than a thousand children returned to their countries in the case of ISIS families.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Kamel Amin, the spokesperson of the Iraqi Ministry of Justice, announced on Tuesday that 76 children of ISIS members, all of whom are children, are waiting to return to their countries.

Amin told the official news agency of Iraq (Waa): In the issue of ISIS families, more than a thousand children returned to their countries. In this context, many meetings were held with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Referring to Iraq’s negotiations with the ambassadors of the countries where ISIS members are citizens, he said: The purpose of these negotiations is for these countries to hand over the [ISIS] children. The Ministry of Justice and the government have provided all the requirements to preserve the dignity and fulfill the principles of human rights and provide food for these children.

Stating that Iraq is one of the countries that adhere to the principles of human rights, Amin pointed out that the Ministry of Justice is looking to expand and build new prisons.

Iraq has repeatedly emphasized the need to return the families of ISIS foreign nationals to their countries. Iraqi officials consider Al-Hol camp, which is the headquarters of ISIS families, as the biggest security risk for them.

America and the western countries, which still want to play the ISIS card in Syria and Iraq, are against the dismantling of this camp. Westerners have repeatedly avoided handing over their ISIS nationals under various pretexts.

“Jabbar Oudeh”, one of the leaders of the Shiite Coordination Framework coalition, recently said that the Al-Hol camp in northeastern Syria, which is under the control of the American coalition and the Kurds allied to the United States, is considered one of the main threats to the region’s security.

He called this camp “the biggest source of tension in West Asia and the world” and said: “Al-Hol camp is a direct threat to Iraq’s national security, and the US government is directly responsible for this camp, a camp where 20,000 ISIS terrorists and their families are present near the border.”

Qasim al-Aarji, Iraq’s national security advisor, also said last month in a meeting with Jean-Jérôme Casabianca, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Iraq, that the existence of the al-Hol camp is a real danger for Iraq and the region.

Currently, more than 70,000 people are living in very bad conditions in Al-Hol camp located in Haskeh province of Syria. Of these, 31,000 are Syrian and 31,000 are Iraqi. Some Syrian sources have mentioned the number of residents more than this.

Also, 12,000 nationals of other countries are present in this camp, and so far, few countries have agreed to hand over their ISIS nationals in this camp. 4,000 women and 8,000 children who are considered to be the families of ISIS terrorists and are under special care.
