Baghdad warns Damascus of a dangerous time bomb.
According to Al-Ma’ulouma, Iraqi MP Amer Al-Fayez stressed that the Al-Hol camp in Syria currently houses 30,000 people, most of whom are ISIS members.
He added: “They have the citizenship of 50 countries and act as a time bomb that not only threatens Syria but also poses a danger to countries in the region and the world.”
Al-Fayez added: “The residents of this camp, especially the teenagers, have been trained in ISIS terrorist ideologies for years.” After the recent developments in Syria, Iraqi officials sent an important message to Damascus and called for a resolution to the Al-Hol camp case. They emphasized that the Al-Hol camp and resolving this problem are a priority for Baghdad.
He said: “Baghdad is serious about dismantling this camp and transferring the Al-Hol residents to their own countries. It is unacceptable that a camp with thousands of extremist elements exists in our neighborhood.”
It should be noted that the Al-Hol camp was established by the United States in Syria years ago to gather ISIS elements.
