Baku talks: Will Türkiye and Israel agree on dividing Syria?
The competition between Turkey and the Israeli regime over the future of Syria is becoming more intense and serious by the minute, and while the Israeli regime has unveiled its plan for the future of Syria, Turkey is trying to convince Damascus not to succumb to the pressure of the Israeli regime and not to ignore Ankara’s contribution.
Earlier this week, sources close to Tel Aviv unveiled a plan that is actually a new draft for peace between the Israeli regime and Syria. This plan will expand the buffer zone defined under the 1974 ceasefire agreement between Damascus and Tel Aviv to a depth of two kilometers, annexing more areas of Syrian territory.
Secondly, this plan prohibits the Syrian authorities from entering any heavy military vehicles into the south. Thirdly, Syrian military aircraft are prohibited from flying in the south of the country (from southwest of Damascus to the buffer zone).
Meanwhile, Israel will maintain some of the areas it occupied after the fall of the former regime, including its military presence on the strategic peak of Mount Hermon.
