Bashar al-Assad: We offer peace, but our blood is shed.
According to SANA, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad delivered a speech at the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic and Arab Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh.
The Syrian President said: “I will not speak about the historical and fixed rights of the Palestinians, the certainty of insisting on them, or about our duty towards the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon, the legitimacy of the resistance in these two countries, and the Nazism of the Israeli occupiers, because this does not add anything to the knowledge of many in the world.”
Bashar al-Assad continued: “The crime has been continuing for a year. Last year, we emphasized the need to stop the aggression, and the result this year was a greater number of martyrs and refugees in Palestine and Lebanon. We offer peace and receive blood in return. Changing these results requires changing mechanisms and tools.
The Syrian President said: “If the Palestinians do not enjoy their fundamental rights, which is the right to life, what will be the value of their rights in total?” The current priority is to stop the killing, genocide, and ethnic cleansing.
Bashar al-Assad continued: We must determine our options; do we condemn, sanction, or ask for help from the international community? What is our implementation plan? We are not dealing with a country, but with a colonial regime. We are not dealing with a nation, but with a group of settlers who have a barbaric nature.
He added: It is the problem that determines the means, and the means are the basis for success. This is the main point of our meeting today. I hope that this meeting will be successful and that we will be able to make the right decisions.
