Pak Sahafat – The Syrian president pointed out that China, by playing a role in the Security Council and international forums, stands by Syria politically, and said that when Beijing talks about participation, it does not seek hegemony.
According to Pak Sahafat International News Agency, Syrian President Bashar Assad, in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV), stated that China is a big country that plays an important role in the world today. When Beijing talks about partnership, it is talking about a new principle and not about hegemony.
He added: Small countries need this participation and this is the role played by China. In addition to adopting clear political positions, this country is far from any flattery by playing a role in the Security Council and some other international forums, standing by Syria politically.
The Syrian President stated: “The development aspect is very important for Damascus, because Syria is now under a bad, violent and dangerous economic blockade from the West. Its purpose is to starve the Syrian people. This issue is one of the issues discussed with the Chinese authorities and has different dimensions. “Beijing provides humanitarian aid to Syria and plays an important role in reducing suffering.”
In this regard, Assad announced that meetings and meetings will be held in Damascus to examine mechanisms to transform several discussed issues into work and practical projects.
In an interview with China Central Television, Assad said about his trip to China and the changes in this country that since his visit to China nineteen years ago until today, very big leaps have taken place in this country and it is difficult to compare the two. At that time, they said that China is the factory of the world or the factory of the world’s goods, but today it can be said that China is the “factory of creativity”.
On September 21, Bashar Assad arrived in Beijing on his first official visit after nearly two decades in response to the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, during which he met with Xi Jinping and signed a Syrian-Chinese strategic cooperation agreement.
In this meeting, the President of Syria stated that his country welcomes China’s constructive role in the international arena and rejects efforts to weaken this role.
The President of China also emphasized that his country is ready to develop cooperation with Syria and jointly defend international justice in the shadow of the current instability. Emphasizing the strength of the relations between the two countries in the face of changes in international conditions over the past 67 years, he said that the friendship between the two countries is still strong.
