Behind Germany’s Reluctance to Embargo Israeli Arms.
The Stuttgarter Nachrichten newspaper discussed the reasons for the German government’s reluctance to impose an arms embargo on the Zionist regime despite its crimes in the Gaza Strip and wrote: Despite accusations that Israel violates international law, Germany continues to adhere to its policy of sending weapons to the regime and continues to supply weapons. Here, the question arises: why?
According to a May 2025 report by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Palestinians, Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip, in particular the blockade and the deliberate prevention of humanitarian aid, violate international humanitarian law. The committee accuses the Zionist regime of systematically using starvation as a weapon of war and, as a result, collective punishment of the Palestinian population.
Doctors Without Borders also announced that Israel has resumed its previous tactics in an attempt to influence international public opinion, providing partial aid and temporarily removing obstacles to the delivery of aid.
However, the organization warns that the hunger crisis in Gaza is now so advanced that it cannot be resolved by humanitarian pauses in the military offensive.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has also confirmed that a worst-case scenario of famine is unfolding in the Gaza Strip.
