PNN – China’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) has accused London of espionage by publishing details of an intelligence file related to the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6).
According to the report of Pakistan News Network from China’s Global Times news agency, China’s Ministry of State Security announced in a post on its WeChat account: After a thorough investigation, China’s National Security Agency uncovered a major espionage case involving the employment of an employee named Wang and his wife Zhou.
Chinese experts told the Global Times: As China’s international status and influence continue to grow, Western countries are using more sophisticated methods for influence.
With a thorough investigation and solid evidence, China’s National Security Agency stepped in and legally detained and interrogated Wang and Zhou, thus uncovering an important agent of the British intelligence service in China’s domestic system. The case is currently under further investigation.

Also in January, Chinese officials revealed a case in which Britain’s secret service was using “third country” foreign personnel to spy on Beijing.
Gao Jian, director of the Center for British Studies at Shanghai International Studies University, told the Global Times on Monday.
Britain has specifically allocated funds to hire Chinese personnel and increase the number of institutions and staff dedicated to the study of China within the government.
He pointed out that in an age where the competition of great powers is increasingly intensified, it is necessary to increase the awareness of national security.
Gao Jian added: We should not think that only America or some countries are doing espionage activities against us. Some US allies may also follow Washington’s directives to target China with intelligence and espionage activities.
