Beijing: More than 24 countries have supported China’s political solution

PNN – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced during a press conference that more than 24 countries have supported Beijing’s political solution to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoted by Bloomberg, more than 24 countries have backed Beijing’s political solution to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict, China’s top diplomat said just days after Beijing announced it was skipping a Ukraine peace summit in Switzerland.

Wang Yi told reporters on Tuesday night that Russia and Ukraine have separately approved most of the content of the principles of a political solution put forward by China and Brazil in a joint statement last month.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously supported China’s peace plan to resolve the Ukraine conflict, saying that Beijing fully understands what is behind the conflict.

Putin, who made these statements before his recent trip to Beijing with China’s Xinhua news agency, added: Russia is ready for dialogue to resolve the conflict in Ukraine that has been going on for more than two years.

The Russian President continued: China’s plan and other principles put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping last month also take into account the factors behind the scenes of this war.

He also emphasized: Our assessment of China’s approach to solving the Ukraine crisis is positive. They (Beijing) correctly understand the main cause and global geopolitical meaning of this war.

In another part of this interview, the Kremlin leader pointed to the principles put forward by Xi in his conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Schultz and added: These principles were realistic and constructive steps that developed the idea of the necessity of overcoming the Cold War mentality.

More than a year ago, Beijing presented a 12-point plan containing general principles for ending the war in Ukraine. At that time, Russia and Ukraine did not welcome this plan very warmly, and the United States also claimed that Beijing presented itself as a peace mediator in this plan, and at the same time presented a “false narrative” of Russia and condemned its attack.

It is said that the principles that China has added to this plan include the demand from both sides to stop attacks, conditions to restore peace and stability, and minimize its effects on the global economy.
