PNN – The Belgian economist and journalist believes that American hegemony is nearing its end and that Washington has aligned itself with the aggressive policies of the Zionist regime, in accordance with Netanyahu’s neocolonial and fascist ideology.
PNN – In an interview with the Algerian online newspaper (algeriepatriotique), Xavier Dupree pointed to the end of American hegemony that could happen in this war and in Iran, and defined fascism as the reaction of a declining power that is facing its limitations, adding: In accordance with Netanyahu’s neocolonial and fascist ideology, Washington has aligned itself with the aggressive policies of the Zionist regime.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, regarding “Trump and Netanyahu’s imperialist attack on Iran,” he said: Imperialism is the military manifestation of neo-colonialism in its most direct and brutal form, which is not a new issue in the history of international relations. However, we must point out a political and ideological element that changes the situation regarding the attack on Iran.
He added: Usually, when the United States decides to confront a government that Washington claims has deviated from the norm of international relations, the United Nations is pressured. The major media groups that serve the oligarchy quickly jump on the bandwagon and work to create an international community that happens to identify with Washington’s message; and if it is necessary to spread lies such as the claim that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction before the start of the Second Gulf War, US diplomacy will do so without hesitation.
The economist stated that Washington needs to create legitimacy, however artificial, and a formality for an operation to appear before the law of conservation; like a defendant lying in his own defense, adding: It is at this level that we are witnessing a change of direction under Donald Trump. The joint intervention of the Zionist bloc and the US military was never discussed at the UN. This is a very important point, because international law has been deliberately marginalized by the Trump administration. This is an unprecedented break. Their alignment with the practices of the Zionist regime, which are reprehensible and condemnable from the perspective of international law, has now become apparent.
Dupre continued: This worrying shift is consistent with the radicalization of the right wing of the American political scene. The similarities between the so-called “MAGA” movement and the fascist militias active in Europe in the interwar period are well-known and documented. This radicalized authoritarianism has clearly led to a rapprochement with the Zionist far right, most ominously embodied by Benjamin Netanyahu.
Explaining the formation of fascism, he said: Fascism is the reaction of a declining power that is faced with its limitations. Despite all the sanctions imposed on Tehran since 1979, Iran is on the verge of bridging the strategic gap with the Zionist regime. Anxiety is evident in Zionist circles, both in Washington and Tel Aviv, and this psychological factor helps explain the violence of this reaction.
The Belgian economist added: In addition to what has been said, perhaps the end of Western, and in particular American, hegemony in Iran will occur, a process whose starting point can be attributed to the 2008 financial crisis. In any case, it is important to emphasize Iran’s military power, both in terms of drones and its missile attack capabilities. When the Iranian side says that it is not afraid of a long war, it should be taken seriously, and it seems that the West has underestimated this.
The Belgian economist added: Today, American hegemony is coming to an end and Washington is aligning itself with the aggressive policies of the Zionist regime, in accordance with Netanyahu’s neo-colonial and fascist ideology. From an ideological perspective, this strengthened cooperation reflects a greater appreciation of the Zionist regime’s role as the West’s bridge to the Middle East and the Near East. China’s growing influence in the region has caused serious concern in Washington. Given that Iran is Beijing’s ally in the region, a conflict with Iran could be seen as a proxy war with China.
He also called the invasion of Iranian soil an act of “strengthening against the emergence of a multipolar world,” adding: This action, in addition to the damage it causes to the global economy, is also preventive. In fact, China’s incredible rise in just two generations has not been given enough attention. Since the beginning of the century, of the one billion people who have been lifted out of poverty worldwide, 800 million are Chinese.
Dupre, who specializes in international economics, emerging markets, and the dynamics of capitalist crises, added: Personally, and ultimately, I am one of the Europeans who would like to work more closely with China. Beijing’s remarkable economic success proves that it is possible to increase the prosperity of a continent without succumbing to the dictates of Wall Street, and this is a very encouraging prospect for European countries.
