The Inter-University Council of Flanders requested the European Commission to issue a directive on the investigation of the role of universities and research institutions of the Zionist regime in human rights violations.
Thousands of students, university professors, researchers and university staff in Belgium requested in an open letter on January 14 that the country’s universities stop relations with Zionist institutions due to Israel’s attacks in Gaza and the West Bank.
The Israeli regime, with the support of the United States, launched a devastating war against the residents of the Gaza Strip from October 7, 2023 to January 19, 2025, which left massive destruction and deadly famine. However, they did not achieve their stated goals of destroying the Hamas movement and freeing the Zionist prisoners, and finally agreed to a cease-fire agreement with the Palestinian resistance and to negotiate with it for the exchange of Palestinian prisoners with Zionist prisoners.
This agreement came into effect on January 19, 2025, and its first phase will last for 6 weeks.
The Zionist regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have so far left more than 47,400 martyrs and more than 111,000 wounded.
