Biden: Efforts for a 6-week ceasefire in Gaza continue

PNN – US President Joe Biden said that Washington is trying to establish a 6-week ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

According to Pakistan News Network, quoted by AFP, Biden said on Tuesday morning after meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House: America is trying to make an agreement between Israel and Hamas regarding the release of hostages. The agreement will also establish an immediate and lasting cooling-off period of at least 6 weeks.

Regarding the plan of the Zionist regime’s ground attack on Rafah, he only said that civilians “must be protected”.

King Abdullah II also warned in an interview with reporters at the White House that the attack on Rafah “will create another humanitarian disaster.”

He added: We cannot stand by and allow this situation to continue. We need a lasting ceasefire. This war must end.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently announced that ground operations in Rafah will begin within the next two weeks. The Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, continuing his exaggerations, demanded the destruction of the military battalions of the Hamas movement in Rafah before the month of Ramadan.

In order to retaliate for the surprise attacks of the “Al-Aqsa Storm” and to compensate for its failure and stop the resistance operations, the Zionist regime has closed all the crossings of the Gaza Strip and is bombarding this area.

The number of martyrs has reached 28 thousand 340 and the number of wounded has reached 67 thousand 984 since the aggression against Gaza began on October 7.
