Biden: Netanyahu is not doing enough to exchange prisoners

PNN – US President Joe Biden said today (Monday) that the final agreement for the exchange of prisoners is close, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not doing enough to implement this agreement.

According to Pakistan News Network’s report on Monday, Reuters wrote, Joe Biden said: A final deal to release prisoners held by Hamas in Gaza is close, but he doesn’t think Netanyahu is doing enough to make it happen.

Biden, who was speaking to reporters at the White House following the discovery of the bodies of six Zionist prisoners, including an American citizen, from a tunnel in Gaza, was asked if he thought Netanyahu had done enough to preserve the prisoner release agreement.

In response to another question about whether he plans to present the final agreement on the release of prisoners to the two sides this week, the President of the United States said, “We are very close to it.”

When asked if the proposed new deal would be successful, Biden expressed optimism.

Biden and his deputy Kamla Harris were supposed to meet and talk with the American negotiating team today about efforts to reach an agreement to release the remaining prisoners.

The statements of the President of the United States came after the report of the Washington Post, which stated that if Hamas and the Israeli regime cannot accept the final cease-fire agreement from Washington, the United States may withdraw from the leadership of the cease-fire negotiations in Gaza.

The Washington Post noted in its report that the US is going to present its final proposal to the Israeli regime and Hamas in the coming weeks.

The most important deadlock is the negotiations between the Hamas resistance group and the Zionist regime over the Salah al-Din (Philadelphia) corridor on the border of Gaza with Egypt and the east-west corridor of “Netzarim” on the Gaza border.

Under the pretext of preventing smuggling and the infiltration of militias, Netanyahu insists that he must control these two corridors. But Hamas wants the complete withdrawal of Zionist forces from Gaza.
