“Biden’s Running Mate Turns Frontrunner: Harris Poised to Take the Reins as Democratic Nominee”

Biden’s office has announced that he does not intend to withdraw. But if he withdraws, Harris is likely to be at the top of the list of Democratic candidates to succeed him.
A poll by the “Death for Progress” think tank shows that Harris is the most popular choice to replace Biden. More than 1,000 Americans, including 387 Democratic Party voters, participated in this survey, and the margin of error is three percentage points.
39% of the participants in this poll chose Harris in response to the question of who would be chosen if the Democratic Party held a meeting to replace Biden. Seth Shuster, the spokesman of the Biden campaign, had previously said in response to such a possibility: Joe Biden will not withdraw.
California Governor Gavin Newsom was the second most likely choice, with 18 percent of Democrats choosing him as Biden’s replacement. Pete Buttigieg, the Secretary of Transportation of the Biden administration, also followed with 10, Senator Cory Booker with seven, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer with 6 percent of the vote. Biden can withdraw before the Democratic Party meeting in August to officially introduce the party’s candidate.
